Zoning staff flagged unpermitted activity at a Sheridan Drive/property operated by Bokea Paving and asked the commission to require immediate remedial steps.
Engineer John Paul Garcia, representing Bokea Paving, said revised site drawings addressed prior staff comments and that the team had moved temporary structures on the site in line with the plan. Town staff, however, told the commission they observed a permanent shed and a 100‑gallon propane tank that had been installed without permits, evidence of vehicle washing on a dirt pad with no drainage controls, and incomplete silt fencing and erosion protection in areas of exposed slope.
Staff asked the fire marshal to inspect the fueling and propane installations and requested the water supply for vehicle washing be shut off until proper controls and permits are in place. The applicant requested a 30–35 day extension to resolve the matters and provide corrections; staff agreed to meet with the applicant and inspect the site and to report back to the commission prior to the continued hearing date.
The commission did not render a final decision; staff emphasized that enforcement remedies are separate from the application timeline and that safety concerns (fueling, drainage and unsecured dropoffs) should be addressed immediately by the owner/operator.
