Sinkhole exposes collapsed sewer main at Bahr Road; public works makes same-day repair

The Lower Pottsgrove Township Authority heard a report on Oct. 13, 2025, that a sinkhole near 1432 Bahr Road revealed a four- to five-foot collapse of a terra cotta sewer main.
Authority Manager Edward C. Wagner said a resident reported the sinkhole at the corner of Buchert Road and Bahr Road; Public Works responded, excavated the site and replaced the damaged section of pipe within three to four hours at a minimal cost. Wagner said the collapsed sewer main had been undermined by a 15-inch concrete stormwater pipe that runs from the back woods to the property dating to the original development construction.
Wagner described the repair as completed on the same day with limited expense and no further immediate work required. The matter was reported to the board as an operational update; no formal motion was taken.
