The Lower Pottsgrove Township Authority voted March 10 to accept Sewer Specialty's proposals to relocate or line sewer pipe on Buchert Road and Brooke Road.
Edward C. Wagner, the Authority manager, announced the bids: Buchert Road (roughly 3,300 linear feet between Lower Pottsgrove Elementary School and North Valley Road) at $185,752, and Brooke Road (to complete the Hilltop Road project) at $15,960. Mark Loshnowsky moved to accept the Sewer Specialty proposals with traffic-control costs to be added; Joseph Groff seconded and the motion passed 3-0.
Fred Ebert, the Authority engineer, said additional investigation is required on Commons Drive because a potential sag in the line may need a hybrid repair (targeted excavation to fix the sag, followed by lining). Ebert said any work near the basin must occur in the dry season. He also said Sewer Specialty recommended televising a collapsed or burst section of pipe on Sanatoga Road to determine the exact extent of damage and plan repairs; Ebert estimated about 100 linear feet may be affected.
The contracts approved on March 10 will address immediate lining needs and complete the Hilltop Road work; Commons Drive work is pending further field investigation and pricing. The Authority did not specify a construction start date at the meeting; staff noted timing will depend on the dry-season window and any additional approvals.
Loshnowsky, Groff and Pence voted in favor; no members opposed or abstained.
