School board honors school resource officer Justin Jamison on promotion to sergeant

John Crane, the district’s security supervisor, led a tribute on June 15 honoring Officer Justin Jamison for his four years as a school resource officer in Lakewood City Schools and for his broader police experience.
Crane said Jamison taught D.A.R.E. courses, routinely ate lunch with students to build rapport, assisted with emergency planning, operated police drones to obtain aerial photos of school buildings and helped develop reunification and evacuation plans. Crane described those activities as contributions that improved building safety and student relationships.
The board presented Jamison with a certificate of recognition and praised his community engagement. Jamison thanked the board and district leadership and said his time in the schools shaped his approach to policing; the meeting noted he has accepted a promotion to sergeant with the Lakewood Police Department.
No board action was required; trustees recognized Jamison and members of his family and colleagues applauded.
