Van Buren County supervisors certify Nov. 4 school election, name three directors

The Van Buren County Board of Supervisors on Nov. 18, 2025, canvassed combined returns from the Nov. 4, 2025 City/School Election and approved Resolution #11-18-2025 certifying the results for the Van Buren County Community School District.
Supervisor House moved to approve the resolution certifying the multi-jurisdiction election results as prescribed by law; Supervisor Mark G. Meek seconded the motion. The board’s roll call recorded Meek as “Aye,” Supervisor Waugh as “Not Present,” and House as “Aye,” and the resolution was approved. The board’s action cited Code of Iowa §50.24 as the statutory basis for the canvass and certification. County Auditor Lisa Plecker attested to the proceedings.
The resolution names the candidates elected by voters in the Van Buren County portion of the district: Colby Kreiss for Director, District 1; Sheila K. Parsons for Director, District 4; and William Cline for Director, At-Large. The board’s written record states no obvious clerical errors were identified during the canvass.
At the start of the meeting the board also approved the minutes from its Nov. 12, 2025 meeting on a motion by Supervisor House, seconded by Supervisor Meek. The meeting convened at 8:17 AM and adjourned at 8:28 AM.
