Fort Mojave Mesa reports strong ambulance revenue, station move-in planned and apparatus returned to service

Assistant Chief Kevin Smith told the board that February ambulance revenue totaled $163,225.69, with 117 emergency 911 calls and 52 inter-facility transports for the month. Fiscal year-to-date ambulance revenue stands at $1,311,078.89, and the district is tracking toward a $2 million revenue target for the year.

Chief Smith also reported that Engine 921 has been repaired and returned to service. Deputy Chief John Clark provided a virtual tour of Station 91 renovations and reported a planned move-in date of the week of April 20; Clark said supplies for Station 92’s planned steel building have been inventoried but that foam padding and one beam will need replacement and funding must be secured before that construction work proceeds. Clark also noted Sherwin-Williams donated paint for administrative-side stucco and Elite Painters donated labor.

Chief Pardi summarized recent district activities, including a Relationship by Objectives retreat emphasizing transition and unity, executive staff travel to Washington, D.C. for legislative advocacy, and memorial activities following the passing of district mechanic Rob Hussey.

The board also honored two newly pinned firefighters who completed their probationary periods: Damain Doty and Austin Kenworthy. Each received recognition and acknowledgement of contributions to training curriculum while on probation.

Why it matters: ambulance revenue makes up a substantial share of district operating funds and station readiness impacts response capability; necessary repairs and remaining funding requirements for Station 92 renovations are outstanding operational items.

Next steps: funding for Station 92 building work remains to be secured; the board did not take formal action on the renovations during the meeting.
