The Park County Drop-In Center, an independent 501(c)(3) peer-support organization, said it recently hired a recovery specialist, Sam Eagland, to strengthen day-to-day peer support and expand service capacity.
"We worked our first two days this week, and things are so much better having a third person," said Jenny Jo Allen, a drop-in center representative, describing how the hire freed staff to handle administrative tasks and improved operations.
Allen said the center will host a wraparound seminar April 28–30 with facilitators visiting from Canada and that the organization is adding a donation button and an events page at pcdropincenter.org. The center is also serving as a meeting site for community groups, including the Park County Cancer Alliance.
Speakers emphasized the center’s role as a community-led peer-support space rather than a county program. "Even though it's called the Park County Drop-In Center, it is not county related," Allen said, clarifying the organization’s independent status and its license through the Montana Board of Behavioral Health.
The center said it maintains updated hours and seasonal schedules on its website and that it can host peer support and recovery groups for adults. Staff asked community members to share information about volunteer opportunities and training needs.
Next procedural steps: the center will publicize volunteer needs and the seminar details on its website and social channels; members asked that the drop-in center be added to the county mental-health resource list.
