County staff opened and read eight bids for the Old Yellowstone Trail South repair project and said a recommendation will follow after a completeness and accuracy review.
"We did receive 8 bids," Matt, county staff overseeing procurement, told the commission. He read the bids aloud: the lowest base bid was from SitePro Construction Services at $789,821; other bids included $831,847, $1,066,841, $1,136,000, $1,460,955, $1,526,488, $1,793,232 and $1,936,930.
Matt said staff (David) will review the bids and bring a formal recommendation to the commission in the next few weeks. Commissioners held comment until the review is complete and did not award the contract at today's meeting.
The bid opening is a procedural step in which county staff verify bid bonds and addendum acknowledgements; contract award will follow procurement review and any necessary legal checks.
The commission also opened single and multiple bids for separate projects (Cooke City snow removal, mag-chloride application) and instructed staff to evaluate those separately and return recommendations.
