Specific points included: a recommendation to add yield signs rather than stop signs at two through-street intersections (Woodlon/Second and Woodlon/Third), a proposal to move or correct stop signs so ordinance language matches existing on-street four-way or three-way controls, and plans to remove obsolete references to areas that have been physically changed (for example, sections around the football field and Main Street overnight parking rules). Council also discussed state DOT control of signage on state highways and agreed to avoid conflicting changes on DOT-controlled segments.
Council directed staff to draft ordinance amendments that (1) correct the street listings to reflect current signs, (2) add yield controls on selected intersections instead of full stops where visibility and practice support yield signage, (3) adjust language around school crossing zones, and (4) consolidate parking categories (angle vs. head-in) to match pavement markings. Several proposed edits will return as ordinance language for a future meeting.
No final ordinance adoption occurred at this meeting; the codification project will be revised and brought back for formal approval after staff rewrites per council direction.
