Maxwell to coordinate some sidewalk repairs with DOT Highway 210 project; three Main Street properties deferred

Given overlapping scopes, the council agreed to defer three identified Main Street sidewalk repairs until DOT finalizes its plans for the 2027 project to avoid duplicative work. Council directed staff to ask DOT to extend sidewalk work where it logically ties into the city’s list and to consider third‑party agreements allowing the city to piggyback on DOT contractors at potentially lower cost.
Council also discussed crosswalks near the school, ensuring accessible ramps and drainage considerations, and adding other priority sidewalk segments to the city’s repair list for the next budget cycle. Staff will coordinate with DOT staff, share the information with the sidewalk program contractor, and return with recommended additions and cost estimates.
