The Lisle Village Board on June 15 approved several staff-recommended items: updated memoranda of understanding for school resource officers to ensure compliance with a law identified in the meeting as "Public Act 1040430," consent-agenda procurement and intergovernmental items, and an ordinance amending the fiscal year 2026–27 compensation and staffing plan in the finance department.
Deputy Chief Craig Amorac presented updated MOUs between the Lisle Police Department and Lisle Community Unit School District number 202 and between the village and Board of Education of Neapville CSD number 203, saying the changes — required to take effect July 1, 2026 — clarify SRO roles, responsibilities and training requirements. Amorac praised current officers’ school-based work, noting Officer Justin Lewis at Lisle High School and Officer Brian Rolls at Kennedy Junior High as examples of SROs serving as mentors and trusted resources. The board approved both resolutions on roll call.
On the consent agenda the board approved routine items including the June 1 meeting minutes, a June 15 invoice list, the May treasurer’s report, authorization of a purchase order for up to $74,330 for bulk rock salt through a DuPage County joint bid, an intergovernmental agreement to allow Downers Grove Sanitary District to use the village fueling station temporarily, and a professional services agreement with CivilTech Engineering Inc. for the pavement management report not to exceed $74,127.
On staffing, Manager Cook described an ordinance converting two part-time finance positions (each about 30 hours per week) to full-time, deleting three authorized positions and adding two to provide a structure for the incoming finance director following recent departures. The board approved the staffing ordinance on roll call.
What happens next: Staff will post updated SRO MOUs and proceed with implementation steps for the pavement management report; the village manager and department heads will continue recruitment and restructuring in the finance department.
