Fort Mohave Mesa Board approves $500,000 cyber insurance policy; consent items and write-offs also approved

At its Feb. 17 meeting, the Fort Mohave Mesa Fire District Board approved staff’s recommendation to purchase a $500,000 cyber insurance policy with a $10,000 deductible.
Chief Kevin Smith and District Manager Tracey Petrisko presented the available coverage options and recommended the $500,000 policy. Arden Lauxman moved to accept the second option recommended by staff; Sher Voelker seconded. The motion passed on a roll call vote with all board members voting Aye.
The board also approved the consent agenda, which included the Jan. 27, 2026 regular meeting minutes and the January 2026 financial report. The consent agenda approved ambulance write-offs totaling $2,476.94 and authorized sending ambulance accounts totaling $61,326.51 to collections for December 2025 and January 2026. Joseph Harmon moved to approve the consent items and Sher Voelker seconded; the motion passed unanimously.
Several operational items, including district vehicle branding and telematics compliance and procurement policy updates, were tabled for future consideration. The board adjourned at 8:16 PM.
