The applicants proposed planting evergreen screening and replacing an existing fence to shield the condenser units from the adjacent property at 10 Pinehill Avenue.
Board members asked staff to confirm placement and screening details. Tammy (staff) confirmed the compressors will sit behind the house and not project beyond the existing north wall. After discussion, a board member moved to approve the variance “subject to the installation of evergreen bushes to conceal the units.” The motion was seconded and carried unanimously; Keith explicitly recorded his vote in favor during the roll call.
The board recorded no written public objections and no speakers raised hands to comment during the public-comment period. The approval includes the plantings as a condition to provide both visual and sound buffering while ensuring air circulation around the compressors.
The board’s clerk will note the condition in the permit paperwork; applicants may proceed once any required permits are issued and the screening plan is approved by staff.
