The Tangipahoa Parish School Board on June 16 read a full resolution levying its 2026 property tax millages and approved the measure on a unanimous roll-call vote. The resolution, read aloud during the meeting, lists a constitutional district millage (key 107047) with the printed rate in the document shown to the board as "4.06 06 mills" and a Hammond Magnet school tax millage (key 1070085) at 15 mills.
Board members said the finance committee had already vetted the rates and that the full board's vote tonight constituted the official adoption for the 2026 tax roll. The motion to adopt was made by Mr. Piaza and seconded by Mr. West Morland; Clerk Miss Amanda called the roll and every member present voted yes.
Adopting millage rates sets the property tax levy the district will ask the assessor to place on the 2026 assessment roll. Board discussion focused on process and the required roll-call vote; no member raised opposition during the hearing. The board did not amend the text as read at the meeting.
Because the resolution text was read in full on the record, those figures (as printed and read) will be included in the official minutes and posted materials required for tax assessment and collection.
