Council moved to send representatives (including the mayor or mayor pro tem and other council members) to meet with Marshall County to request rate information and to place the topic on a future meeting agenda for apples‑to‑apples comparison. The motion passed by roll call.
Council directed staff to collect detailed fee schedules, per‑capita versus per‑ton cost comparisons, and to report back so the council can consider options that preserve local influence and fiscal fairness before any formal termination or change in service arrangements.
