Shorefront Consulting asked the Conservation Commission on March 5 to permit an existing dock, stairs and seasonal float at 180 South Street as part of a property sale. The consultant, Mark Burgess, said no new work is proposed and that the float is removed seasonally.
Commissioners and staff confirmed the dock expansion predated a 2002 interim license and was therefore treated as pre-existing. The commission granted the requested variances for the existing configuration but made clear that reconstruction or changes would trigger a new notice of intent and require compliance with current regulations.
Commissioner Frost moved to issue an order of conditions; the motion was seconded by Commissioner Bova and carried 6-0. The OOC allows the existing dock to remain under the current configuration with ongoing conditions that storage and location of the float be off resource areas when required.
