Orangeburg County Council on June 15 approved second reading of a rezoning request for a 0.69‑acre parcel at 118 Foggy Lane (tax map number 0139‑00‑03‑002). Planning staff said the Planning Commission met May 13 and recommended approval by a 5–0 vote; no citizens registered support or opposition in advance.
According to the administrator’s presentation, the applicant, Miza Flores, requested the change from Residential Single Family to Rural Community District to place a mobile home on the site. The lot measures approximately 0.69 acres and has access from Hoover Way Lane. Planning staff confirmed adjacent property owners were notified by mail and given opportunity to submit comments.
Council moved and seconded the second-reading ordinance and voted in favor. The rezoning clears the way for the applicant to proceed with permitting and placement consistent with the Rural Community District standards and any related county requirements.
Council did not record any public speakers in opposition during the hearing on second reading.
