Cudahy council approves permits, license renewals and salary ordinance; mayor names board reappointments

Mayor John Hohenfeldt called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. and the council quickly moved through consent business, approving minutes, claims totaling $751,762.88 (ending May 3, 2015), and other routine items.
One of the early votes authorized a parade permit for the Race for the Bacon 5K, submitted by Longrun Athletics (applicant Chris Ponteri), scheduled for July 30, 2015. The motion to approve, moved by Ald. Litkowiec and seconded by Ald. Schissel, carried on a unanimous roll call. Shortly after that vote Ald. Litkowiec left the meeting at 7:05 p.m.
The council approved a Temporary Class “B”/“Class B” picnic license for the Friends of Pulaski Park for an event on August 8, 2015. The motion by Ald. Bartoshevich, seconded by Ald. Schissel, passed with Alderpersons Moralez, Schissel, Litkowiec and Bartoshevich voting “aye” and Alderperson Hollenbeck recording an abstention.
Council members then approved renewals of Class B Combination liquor licenses, Class A Combination liquor licenses, and Class B Malt licenses pending required inspections and background checks. Those renewal motions were recorded with Alderpersons Moralez, Schissel, Litkowiec and Bartoshevich voting “aye” and Alderperson Hollenbeck abstaining; each motion carried.
At 7:09 p.m. Ald. Hollenbeck returned to the meeting. Mayor Hohenfeldt next presented multiple reappointments: Patty Borkowski to the Board of Health (term to June 30, 2017); William Roepke to the Civil Service Commission (term to June 30, 2018); Peter Dombrowski to the Design Review Board (term to June 30, 2018); Greg Witkowski to the Rules, Laws & License Committee (term to June 30, 2018); Therese Michalski to the Board of Review (term to June 30, 2020); and James Zsebe and Michael Nelson to the Plan Commission (terms to June 30, 2018). The council approved the reappointments on a unanimous roll call vote.
The council next approved Ordinance No. 2374.10, an amendment fixing salaries for certain non‑union positions (part‑time Maintenance Inspector/CSO). Ald. Schissel moved the ordinance; Ald. Litkowiec seconded and the ordinance passed unanimously on roll call.
Finally, the council approved two certified survey map resolutions: Resolution No. 6954, combining lots at 3636 E. Layton Ave., and Resolution No. 6955, a redivision affecting parcels including 3503–53 E. Layton Ave. Both resolutions passed unanimously.
There was no public comment. Ald. Bartoshevich moved to adjourn; Ald. Schissel seconded and the meeting adjourned at 7:15 p.m.
