Cudahy council passes ordinances, resolutions and routine licenses; tables recycling change

The Cudahy Common Council conducted routine municipal business and approved several ordinances and resolutions at its June 30, 2015 meeting.
On roll call the council approved Ordinance No. 2373.7, amending the salary schedule for certain department heads (including the Public Health Officer), and Ordinance No. 2374.11, adjusting salaries for certain non‑union employees. Both ordinance approvals were moved by Alderperson Schissel and seconded by Alderperson Litkowiec and passed unanimously.
The council also approved three resolutions: Resolution No. 6956 honoring Joseph Kotarak Jr. as the 2015 Honored Citizen of the Year by the 128th Air Refueling Wing; Resolution No. 6957, approving a certified survey map for 3456 E. Bottsford Avenue; and Resolution No. 6958, approving a certified survey map for 6143 S. Packard Avenue (Waterstone Bank). A mayoral reappointment — Dr. Bob Shampo to the Board of Health through June 30, 2017 — was approved unanimously on a motion by Alderperson Schissel and seconded by Alderperson Bartoshevich.
The consent agenda, approved at the start of the meeting on a motion by Alderperson Litkowiec and seconded by Alderperson Schissel, included minutes from multiple committees, renewal of peddler licenses and renewal of used auto and salvage dealer licenses pending standard inspections and background checks.
A proposal to discontinue the spring clean‑up program in favor of a two‑trip pass system tied to a residential recycling cart fee was tabled to the July 21 meeting after a motion by Alderperson Moralez. The vote to table carried with Moralez, Schissel and Bartoshevich voting "aye" and Litkowiec and Hollenbeck voting "nay." The minutes record Alderperson Hollenbeck temporarily left the dais earlier in the meeting and returned at 7:15 p.m.
During the public comment period Bill Warren, of 5660 S. Nicholson, spoke concerning a liquor license at 5274 S. Packard Avenue. The meeting adjourned at 7:40 p.m.
