Board confirms $250,000 Pinewood bid, orders RFQ to list remaining school parcels with realtors

The board heard that GovDeals closed on a single bid that met the district's $250,000 reserve for the Pinewood school site; staff said the buyer's payment would be wired on the 19th and recommended preparing a written resolution and a deed with that sale's restrictions attached for board consideration at the next meeting.
Several board members said they wanted to review the contract and attached deed restrictions before finalizing authorization. Staff responded that the resolution and deed — including any deed restrictions agreed in the bid process — would be presented at the next meeting for a formal vote.
The board then voted to issue an RFQ for realtor services to market three additional parcels (the small Pinellas parcel, Lee Elementary parcel and a leasehold) so the district can pursue private sales or negotiated deals; the motion to prepare an RFQ passed 5–0. Members discussed options including relisting on GovDeals with different reserves, sealed bids or using a commercial realtor to reach more potential buyers.
Board members also asked staff to honor offers already submitted by parties that had engaged in the earlier RFQ/RFQ process when they prepare listing agreements.
