Beardstown, Ill. — The Beardstown City Council opened its Aug. 19 meeting, approved routine items including minutes and a consent agenda, and adjourned after about 14 minutes.
Alderperson Dawn Seward moved, seconded by Alderperson Allie Dawson, “That the reading of the minutes from the meeting held August 2nd, 2025 be dispensed with, that the minutes be approved as published.” The motion passed unanimously by voice vote.
Later the council approved the consent agenda on a motion by Alderperson Mary Davis, seconded by Alderperson Dawn Seward; the meeting record says the motion passed unanimously by roll call under the Omnibus Vote Designation. The consent agenda included disbursements for the period ending Aug. 19, 2025.
The public-comment period produced no speakers. With no further business, Alderperson Allie Dawson moved to adjourn, seconded by Alderperson Dawn Seward; the meeting adjourned at 6:43 p.m.
The meeting record lists Mayor Tim Harris and City Clerk Katie (Katherine) Vitale among those present. Two aldermen, Harbin and Taylor, were absent for votes recorded later in the meeting.
