At its June 15 work session the Lexington Town Council took a series of procedural votes, all passing unanimously.
- Executive session ratification: Council ratified the matters discussed in executive session (two potential property acquisitions, a zoning legal briefing, West Columbia water litigation) and approved an engagement agreement with the Smith Robinson Law Firm to represent the town in West Columbia v. Town of Lexington. Motion to approve the engagement agreement was seconded and passed unanimously.
- Agenda housekeeping: Council voted to remove business item number four (Pilgrim Point Street Lights) from tonight's agenda to allow staff additional research.
- Ordinances and contracts placed on agenda: Council voted to place the proposed cross-connection/backflow-control ordinance (two readings), a professional services agreement with Brashaw Consulting Services (GIS/IT support), and the Windstream Kinetic franchise agreement on a future regular meeting agenda for formal consideration and potential action.
All recorded motions to place items on the agenda were approved by a unanimous show-of-hands vote; council did not take a final vote on annexation of the Zincer Road parcel and instead directed staff to continue working with the applicant.
