Ada County commissioners approve routine resolutions, ban fireworks in select areas for 2026; RFP award delayed

The board also approved resolution 3206, which bans fireworks in specified county areas for the 2026 fire season; the transcript records one recorded "Nay" vote and the chair declared the motion carried. "This is an annual motion we do around fireworks season," the chair said, noting the action protects fire-prone areas.
On procurement, staff opened RFP 26045 for county printing and mailing services and announced a single proposer, AutoSort Incorporated. The board voted to table the final ranking and award recommendation to the Aug. 18, 2026 open business meeting to allow evaluation time.
The board approved several routine agenda consent items: a peddler/solicitor license for Nicholas Watkins; concession and exhibitor agreements for the Western Idaho Fair; agreements for the Barber Park Education and Event Center; four county agreements with outside vendors and individuals; the weekly claims journal for June 12; and multiple personnel and indigent-services recommendations. The Floyd three-lot subdivision final plat was authorized for signature and stamping after staff confirmed conditions were satisfied.
Finally, the board reappointed Dr. Ryan Cole to the Central District Health Board (term to June 30, 2031); that reappointment will be sent to the other member counties for their concurrence.
