The Common Council of the City of Cudahy met March 17, 2015, and approved its consent agenda and several routine permits and licenses.
The consent agenda — which included minutes of the Joint Plan Commission and Design Review Board (Feb. 10), Claims Committee minutes (March 3), a retirement notice from the Water Department, and claims totaling $365,245.79 — was approved on a motion by Alderperson Schissel, seconded by Alderperson Hollenbeck. The motion carried unanimously.
The council then addressed minutes and committee records. Alderperson Moralez moved to approve the Regular Meeting minutes from March 3, 2015, with Alderperson Bartoshevich seconding; Alderpersons Moralez, Schissel and Bartoshevich voted “aye” while Alderperson Hollenbeck abstained, and the motion carried. Alderperson Schissel moved and Alderperson Moralez seconded approval of the Rules, Laws & License Committee minutes (March 4); the same three alderpersons voted “aye,” Hollenbeck abstained, and that motion carried as recorded.
Business licenses and event permits were approved by unanimous votes. The council granted a used auto license to Naser Berisha for 5048 S. Packard Ave. (motion by Alderperson Moralez, second by Alderperson Bartoshevich). The Badgerland Striders run through the city scheduled for April 14, 2015, was approved (motion by Alderperson Schissel, second by Alderperson Hollenbeck). The council also approved a USA Triathlon event proposed for Aug. 8, 2015 (motion by Alderperson Bartoshevich, second by Alderperson Schissel).
The meeting record notes Alderperson Hollenbeck briefly left the meeting at 7:05 p.m. and returned at 7:08 p.m.; the minutes record shows that absence coincided with the March 3 minutes vote described above.
The council set public hearings for April 21, 2015, at 7:00 p.m. on several zoning requests, including proposals to rezone 3333 Iceport Way and 3326 E. Layton Ave., and to change zoning classifications for parcels on Pennsylvania Avenue.
The meeting adjourned at 7:15 p.m.
