Summary

Mr. Linton, speaking for the Quantis Club, presented the Labor Day Market plan to the committee and said the event has already registered about 50 vendors with expectations of nearly 100 by the market date. "We currently have 50 vendors that have signed up already. We expect close to a hundred when we're done," he said.
Linton described the market’s evolution from an antique show and ox roast to a broader flea-market and food-truck format, with an emphasis on family-friendly programming and no admission fee. He said the club views the market as its major fundraiser but organizes it primarily as a community service and noted the volunteer and youth leadership component: Builder’s Club and Key Club students will staff water and children’s stations, assist vendors, and help with trash pickup.
On logistics, Linton asked for a Granville Street closure (Granville only), early placement of parking signage, and placement of dumpsters; he also confirmed organizers will coordinate vendor parking so stationary vendors can use adjacent parking without causing safety issues. City staff said they will supply a dumpster and will run the market plan through police and fire review and flag any red flags.
The committee did not take formal action but thanked organizers and noted staff will coordinate any necessary permits and street closure paperwork. Mr. Linton said the club will continue recruiting volunteers and working with city crews on cleanup and post-event sanitation.
The committee’s next regular meeting is July 21; staff will flag any outstanding permitting issues before that meeting.
