Superintendent reports enrollment, broadband tower installation and community events; public meeting set for March 30

Superintendent Mrs. Nehrmeyer told the Oracle Elementary School District No.2 Governing Board on March 9 that district enrollment stands at 393 students across Pre‑K through eighth grade and that attendance has averaged 90% since February, up 1% from January.
She said the district is monitoring ASBAIT insurance rates, with a shared percentage expected to be released in April and an anticipated 8% rate mentioned in the meeting. Administration also reported that a broadband internet tower was installed in February; the district will hold a public meeting on March 30 in the Mountain Vista Cafeteria to provide more information to the community.
The superintendent highlighted Read Across America Week activities (March 2–8), staff recognition for Employee Appreciation Day on March 6, the Fueling the Future program that will distribute gift cards before spring break while the cafeteria is closed, and summer school plans (June 8–30, registration opens March 23). She also noted that Pinal Central News has reached out to report on why Oracle receives the highest amount of Arizona tax credits.
Nehrmeyer and staff also reported on science fair participation and awards: several students presented projects and Mountain Vista classes and individuals received honors at the SARSEF Science Fair.
