Board approves routine business, personnel report and Lincoln Elementary drop-off lane MOU

The Addison SD 4 Board of Education approved a slate of routine and operational items at its June 17 meeting, including personnel changes, budget transfers and a memorandum of understanding with the Village of Addison to create a concrete drop-off lane in front of Lincoln Elementary.
On a series of motions moved by Tasso and seconded by Jeremiah, the board unanimously approved the May 20 minutes, accounts payable for June 2026 and the May 2026 payroll after roll‑call votes. The board then approved the June personnel report, which listed licensed staff resignations (including Janette Barrett, Bertha Brisuela and others), new licensed hires (including Leslie Book, Emma Culver and others), ESP hires/rehire and leave of absence requests. "I respectfully recommend that the board approves the personnel report as presented," said Dr. Ivan Nelly when presenting the item.
The board approved dues for the Legislative Education Network of DuPage (LAND) for fiscal 2027 after Mrs. Morgese said the dues rose 2.7% to $6,067. The board also waived the second reading and approved board policy updates, accepted a revised job description for an instructional‑leader position tied to a Preschool for All expansion grant, and approved an annual fund transfer resolution to move funds from the operations and maintenance fund to the capital projects fund to support upcoming projects.
One distinct facilities item presented and approved was an MOU with the Village of Addison for the village to pour concrete in the grass easement directly in front of Lincoln Elementary to create a drop‑off lane. Under the agreement the district would assume ongoing maintenance of the poured concrete after construction. Board members asked whether the one‑way traffic pattern would change; administration replied the one‑way would remain as currently configured and that discussions about broader arrival/dismissal improvements may continue. "We feel very comfortable to say I respectfully recommend the board approves the Lincoln Elementary School drop-off lane MOU with the Village of Addison," Mrs. Morgese said.
All action items recorded roll‑call votes and carried on unanimous yes votes as recorded in the meeting transcript. No item was tabled or failed.
