Plainfield honors longtime employee Eric Lees; Town Manager reports strong Arbor Day turnout and public input on historic site

At the start of its April 27 meeting the Plainfield Town Council presented a Community of Values Award to Eric Lees for his leadership coordinating mitigation after the Feb. 5 flood at police headquarters. Lees, a long-serving town employee and former police officer, accepted the award and thanked the council and department staff.
Town Manager Mr. Klinger reported a well-attended Arbor Day event and said staff collected public input at the 220 Krewson/Bartlow House site regarding its future. Klinger and staff (Mr. Thorne) told council that collected comments will be summarized and returned to the council as part of ongoing outreach.
Lees said he appreciated the recognition and credited a team effort across departments. Council members praised the Arbor Day turnout and the public-engagement approach for the historic property.
Next steps: Staff will compile the public-input summaries from the outreach activities and provide those summaries to council for review.
