Historic commission allocates limited CLG funds for training; secretary role deferred

At the March 4 meeting, city staff told the Eureka Springs Historic District Commission the Certified Local Government award from the state for the year is $5,725 and that approximately $1,800 remains from last year's grant. Cassie, the city officer, said the limited funds mean the commission must prioritize who attends two preservation trainings: a forum and an autumn camp.
Cassie said the CLG coordinator recommended focusing forum attendance on the staff member and the chair so that more commissioners could attend camp; commissioners discussed scenarios (for example, two to forum enabling three to camp) and whether virtual forum options would be available. Cassie said she would forward forum topics and confirm camp dates (noted by commissioners as in October).
Separately, approval of prior meeting minutes was deferred because minutes were not available, and Commissioner Peter Graham said he does not feel capable of continuing as secretary; the commission agreed to defer selection of a new secretary to the next meeting so members can consider nominations.
No formal vote was required for the training allocations at this meeting; staff will follow up with dates and registration details.
