Town Manager Vic Hodgkins provided several administrative updates at the March 2 meeting.
Nomination papers were announced as available and must be returned to the Town Office by 11:00 a.m. on Friday, April 10, 2026. Seats up for election on June 9 include two Town Council seats, one RSU #16 School Board member seat and one Sanitary District Trustee.
Hodgkins referenced the FY '26 MDOT Road Plan included in the meeting packet and noted the town's bridge is not part of that plan because it is already scheduled to be fixed by the State; contact numbers for the Poland Transportation Department and MaineDOT Region 1 were provided for inquiries.
Regarding municipal facilities, Hodgkins said the town plans to hire movers and a contractor to repaint and recarpet the second floor of the Municipal Building (referred to as "Fix 108") by fall; additional information will be shared when available.
