School Building Committee approves $7.8 million Consigli invoice and monthly invoice package

The Revere City School Building Committee on Monday approved its monthly invoice package, including a $7,807,369.12 payment to Consigli, alongside smaller bills for design and testing consultants.
Committee staff presented four invoices: Left Field ($197,264) for construction administration and subconsultant dust monitoring; Briggs Engineering & Testing ($34,185.50) for materials testing; Perkins Eastman ($447,508.42) for construction administration and subconsultant work; and Consigli ($7,807,369.12), the project’s first large GMP billing. Facilitator Brian introduced each invoice, then the committee moved and approved each by roll call.
Consigli’s invoice reflects early work across multiple trade categories: concrete billed to about 12% completion, structural steel 28% (with fabrication under way and steel shipments expected in July), site work 34% and geothermal wells 13%, according to Consigli representative Darren. “We are at about 12% complete,” Darren said while reviewing billed categories and schedule pictures.
Briggs’ testing invoice covers soil compaction and concrete tests; Perkins Eastman’s bill included work by VHB (traffic permitting) and GZA (geotechnical monitoring). Committee members said they expect more testing and shop-drawing submissions as the project moves deeper into construction.
The motions passed on recorded roll calls. Committee members present who voted “yes” included Mike Picardi, Stacey Rizzo, Dr. Kelly, Paul Svenson, Christopher Bowen, Rich Viscay, Mayor Keith, Tom Skouroski, Anthony Cogliandro, Don Martelli and Joshua Miranda; the committee recorded an abstention on an earlier procedural vote by a member who said they had been absent for that meeting.
The facilitator closed the item by noting retainage will remain in place for several months and the committee will continue to review progress and billing percent-completions as the job advances.
The committee moved next to its monthly dashboard presentation and other agenda items.
