Superintendent: District will move from PowerSchool to Synergy student system

The superintendent described several operational updates alongside the software change: a punch-walkthrough for the SVS expansion is near completion; photographs of a traffic-light installation were circulated and the district expects the traffic signal to be operational by June 30, which would allow the district to open and enroll students in the new classrooms next year; and the district plans to relocate the board room to the Hollis building to create more space for community events.
Mr D said the Synergy agreement is included in the consent agenda for board approval. Board members did not debate the systems decision at length during the meeting; the superintendent said more details would be available as the district moves through the procurement and implementation steps.
The board voted on the consent agenda items that included routine approvals; the Synergy agreement was listed among those consent items. The superintendent invited community members to the upcoming Somerton Thriving Achievers recognition event and framed the technology move as a step toward better integration with statewide systems.
