Board approves Marzano agreement, new benefits broker and technology purchases

Separately, after an RFP process, staff recommended awarding supplemental employee-benefits-broker services to Mark 3; the board approved the service agreement by voice vote.
The board also approved three connected technology purchases for the high school: a teacher-laptop refresh (not to exceed $150,000), a student Chromebook replacement (not to exceed $270,000) and equipment to outfit a new computer science lab (not to exceed $75,000). Staff said lifecycle for devices is four years and funds are available under the cited procurement authority.
All three items were approved by voice vote; the Superintendent and staff described accompanying training and data-tracking changes (the district will move discipline tracking into Infinite Campus for better analytics) as part of implementation planning.
