Crawford presentation honors two fallen officers; library and park updates included in council meeting

At the April 14 Crawford City Council meeting, community member David Schleve presented two plaques honoring Marshall Arthur A. Moss and Chief Charles W. Eschenbrenner for their service and sacrifice; the presentation was made to Mayor Grant, the council and a law enforcement representative.
Park/Cemetery representative Jenny Nixon updated the council on applicants under consideration for seasonal park staffing and said Crawford Serving Humanities is interested in donating floodlights for the first- and third-base poles at the ball fields for a September event. Library staff member Ashy Blacksheep gave statistical and event updates and described a planned internship from June 1 to July 31; the Friends of the Library will procure and install a new air-conditioning system using Holmes Homes, and printing revenue will cover the remainder of the printer lease through the end of the year.
Those community reports were delivered as part of an otherwise routine agenda that also included several finance and personnel votes. The meeting adjourned at 7:05 p.m.
