Crawford approves water-plant lighting replacement under security grant; aerator repair tabled

Edward Blacksheep reported that the city has a $10,000 security grant available for upgrades at the water treatment plant and presented Jarrod Allen’s $7,310 estimate to replace nonworking overhead lights, emergency lighting, and exit signs. Council Member Brian Frahm moved to approve the bid as written and to use any remaining grant funds for security cameras or the SCADA computer; Council Member Dianne Gaston seconded. The minutes record an abstention by Council Member Christopher Dean and otherwise show the motion carried.
Council took no action on Automatic Systems Co.'s estimate to repair or replace the aerator computer board and asked for additional clarification before proceeding. The approved lighting work is intended to restore egress lighting and install battery packs to provide emergency illumination during power outages; the minutes note the work must be completed by the end of the year to comply with the grant timetable.
