Beaufort County election office schedules June 23 primary runoff; city council filing opens July 1

The Beaufort County Board of Voter Registration and Elections announced a primary runoff scheduled for Tuesday, June 23; polling places will use the same locations as the June 9 primary and will be open from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
The broadcast also said filing for two city council seats in the city of Buford will open July 1 at noon for registered voters who meet local residency and state requirements. Filing packets are available at city hall (first-floor lobby or the office of the city clerk on the second floor) and online under 2026 municipal election information. Packets must be returned in person to the city clerk by noon on Aug. 17, 2026; they may not be mailed or emailed. The filing fee for city council candidates is $150; applications will be accepted Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., at city hall, 1911 Bounder Street.
The general election is scheduled for Tuesday, Nov. 3, 2026, and newly elected officeholders will be sworn in and begin their terms Dec. 8, 2026. The broadcast referenced a county press release with polling locations and a preview of sample ballots.
