The Lower Salford Board of Supervisors heard a series of infrastructure updates at its June 17 work session, with staff saying several road, sidewalk and signal projects are moving toward completion or next phases.
Mr. Jones, a township staff member who presented the operations update, said Main Street sidewalk work is complete and a final inspection with the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation is scheduled for next week. He added that PennDOT’s Main Street resurfacing project — from Green Lane to Culp Road — is being coordinated with the township but has no firm start date.
Work on Bergies Mill Road will include travel‑lane adjustments, new striping and reorientation of a storm‑water inlet; Mr. Jones said county crews may mill sections and aim to begin the adjustments soon. He also reported the Sford Quarry project’s sheet‑pile installation is on track for a mid‑August reopening target for Quarry Road.
Sewer authority crews have advanced the force main northward to near Fairway Road and are preparing for the more complicated tie‑in at Main Street, Mr. Jones said, warning that the next phase will bring heavier traffic and more complex traffic control needs.
Staff provided an update on traffic‑signal modernization on Main and Maple, noting foundations and conduit runs are in place and curb and ADA ramp work is underway. The team said the centerline striping at the Walmart intersection was skewed following prior widening and that reinstallation of pavement markings per the signal permit should correct alignment.
Board members did not take action on any of the projects during the meeting; staff said they would return with schedules and coordination notices as dates firm up.
