Jim McManus distributed an amended solar ordinance draft at the June 25 Barry County Board of Commissioners meeting and announced the draft will be discussed at a public hearing scheduled for July 22, 2024.
During the limited public comment period Greg Moore "congratulated the Board on the Solar Ordinance draft," expressing appreciation for the work that went into it and also reported on morning weather and power outages. No public hearing on the ordinance was held that day; the distribution of the draft formally set up the July 22 hearing for further public input and deliberation.
The upcoming hearing will be the next procedural step for the ordinance; the minutes record distribution of the draft and public comment but do not document substantive debate or changes to ordinance language at the June 25 meeting.
