Commission approves vendor contracts, appointments, road names and budget revisions in routine June 11 meeting

The Upshur County Commission used its June 11 meeting to complete a range of routine administrative actions, approving vendor contracts, personnel changes, road‑name requests, budget revisions and other standard items.

Key approvals included: selling a 2005 Chevrolet Equinox to the James W. Curry Library for $1; authorizing a World Vision Product Resources Cooperative Agreement for the library; approving a snack and drink vending contract with Mister Vend, Inc.; approving the job description change for an Administrative & Project Coordinator (no new position added); appointing Douglas K. Bush to the Upshur County Convention & Visitors Bureau board; accepting resignations (including Teresa Kee from the Upshur‑Buckhannon Board of Health and court security employee Robert Wilt); approving volunteers for the Lewis‑Upshur Animal Control Facility; approving multiple settlements, certifications and corrections; approving road names Homer Lane and Smallridge Drive; and approving a requested budget revision and inter‑departmental budget revisions to be filed with the state auditor as required.

Facilities Director Eric Poling received approval to use individuals performing community service to clean behind the old jail. The commission also reviewed informational items including jail invoices, building permits, animal control reports and project notices. The next regular commission meeting was set for June 18, 2026, at 9:00 a.m. All motions recorded in the minutes passed unanimously unless otherwise noted.
