Rondout Valley board honors Assistant Superintendent Meg Braren after 25 years of service

Members of the Rondout Valley Central School District Board of Education honored Assistant Superintendent of Student Services Meg Braren on June 17, recognizing 25 years of service to the district.
Board member Nicole praised Braren’s long career and student-centered leadership, noting that Braren began in the district as a leave replacement in 2001 and later served as a special-education teacher, CSE chairperson, director of pupil personnel services and assistant superintendent. Nicole said Braren ‘‘was deeply committed to students and their success’’ and described her leadership and advocacy for vulnerable students.
Another board member, speaking about Braren’s commitment to equity and student supports, said Braren’s initiatives and systems will continue to shape district practice after her departure. The board thanked Braren and wished her well in her next position.
The recognition was delivered near the end of the special meeting, before the board adjourned.
