Council continues Advent Health public hearing to July 8 as applicant refines parking calculations

Planning director Boyd Lawrence told the board the development is a three‑phase project that will begin with an off‑site emergency department and eventually expand to a full service hospital. He said the applicant is seeking a continuance principally to return with revised parking calculations and to allow the zoning board of appeals to render a determination.
Councilmember moved to continue the hearing and a second was recorded. "I'll make a motion that we um have the continuence till July 8th," a council member said, and the motion was seconded. The motion carried with one oppose recorded.
Why it matters: The applicant described the project as part of a phased plan for a future hospital presence in the area. The continuance gives the applicant and staff time to address technical zoning items before the council takes final action.
The public was reminded that no testimony is taken unless a speaker is sworn; because no members of the public were sworn, the board closed that portion of the public hearing prior to the continuance vote.
