Council appoints two to Appeal Authority, discusses cleanup plan and staff reports

The council agreed to explore lower‑cost alternatives rather than fund a full municipal cleanup at this time.
During staff reports, White said a well drilling operation reached 430 feet, the Relief Society of Iron Mountain inquired about fundraising for a pickleball restroom (estimated cost $20,000; sewer stubbed), and chip‑seal operations were scheduled next week. Police Chief Jackson Ames reported increased summer youth activity and that the department received 158 applications for a part‑time administrative assistant position. City Attorney Justin Wayment warned that public business conducted on personal phones may be subject to GRAMA requests and recommended using city email for official communications.
