Developer raises park maintenance questions for Boots‑Frie project adjacent to Pinion Springs

"There remained questions about the parks situation and maintenance responsibilities," Platt said, noting that while transportation issues were resolved, the parties had not finalized how drainage ponds might double as recreation features.
Council Member David Harris urged the development agreement to specify meaningful recreational amenities rather than leaving large open areas undeveloped. Harris said acceptable amenities could include playground equipment and potentially a ball field to serve the approximately 1,000 homes anticipated in the combined development area. Council members and developers agreed that coordinated meetings with other nearby developers would help align street access and infrastructure needs.
The exchange did not include a formal council action; council members directed staff and the applicant to refine the development agreement language to identify the types of amenities to be provided, and to clarify maintenance responsibilities for stormwater features that might also serve as recreational areas.
