Board approves MOU for security professionals; Teamsters report ratification

Under the MOU approved by the board, the corporation will establish a $20-per-hour minimum for security professionals, add a $0.20-per-hour experience differential for each verified year of full-time, benefit-eligible service, and provide an additional $0.50-per-hour increase effective Aug. 1, 2027. The agreement includes defined training timeframes for new hires and clarifies PTO and uniform expectations. The recorded vote in the transcript was unanimous.
John Dell, speaking for the Teamsters, said the local membership ratified the agreement at a meeting and reported that those attending voted to ratify. The administration said the MOU will be retroactive to Jan. 1 where specified in the agreement language.
Trustees discussed whether part-time "lunchroom" security staff were included; presenters explained that those 3-hour, part-time positions historically have not been part of the Teamsters bargaining unit and are funded through food-service budgets and will receive scheduled increases according to those programs' timelines.
What happens next: Administration will implement the MOU provisions (pay adjustments and training timelines) and update payroll accordingly; the board asked administration to coordinate with school-level funding sources for any part-time security increases.
