Cheatham County forms 'Cheatham County Cares' committee to coordinate recovery and county services

The Cheatham County Legislative Body voted to establish the Cheatham County Cares Committee during its Jan. 27 meeting.
The committee will include county and municipal leaders, law-enforcement representation, recovery organizations and judicial and legislative participants. Named members in the resolution include: County Mayor Kerry McCarver; Ashland City Mayor Gerald Greer; Kingston Springs Mayor Todd Verhoven; Pleasant View Mayor Bill Anderson; Pegram Mayor Charles Morehead; representatives from recovery organizations and the judiciary including Anthony Clark (Quintenn Clark Foundation), Troy Sandifer (Hustle Recovery), Judge Phil Maxey, and others; and county officials such as Sheriff Tim Binkley and Commissioner Tim Williamson. The resolution lists additional members and stakeholders.
Commissioner Diana Pike Lovell moved to create the committee and David Anderson seconded the motion; the body approved the measure by voice vote (Resolution 13). The minutes note the first meeting is scheduled for Feb. 5, 2025 at 5:30 p.m. in the David McCullough Room.
The committee, as described in the minutes, is intended to coordinate services and recovery efforts across jurisdictions and agencies. Implementation details, reporting requirements, and staff support are to be determined by the committee at its initial meetings.
