North Logan council approves rezoning of parcel 04-084-0045 from RE‑1 to R‑1‑15

Scott Perkes presented the rezone request and told the council the Planning Commission held a public hearing and unanimously recommended approval. Perkes said potential future development under the new zone could increase the parcel’s buildable lots from roughly two or three to approximately eight, subject to subdivision review. Councilmembers discussed stormwater and drainage concerns in adjacent neighborhoods and emphasized the need for thorough technical stormwater design during future subdivision review; staff reminded the council that state law now limits City Council review authority over residential subdivision approvals and that technical review will occur through staff and the Planning Commission.
Emily Schmidt moved to approve the rezone; Buzzy Mullahkhel seconded. The motion passed unanimously with the councilmembers present recorded in favor.
