Commissioners approve multiple resolutions, add flood-warning languages and extend housing contracts

At its June 16 business meeting the Lewis County Board of Commissioners approved a slate of notice and consent resolutions and several contract amendments.
The board unanimously approved notice items under resolutions 26-180 through 26-185, including public hearings for a Fagley Road vacation (hearing set for July 14), franchise-renewal hearings for Lightseed Networks and Boyfort Valley Water (scheduled July 21) and a notice of hearing for ordinance 1381 related to Law and Justice Council membership.
The board also approved consent items under resolution 26-186 and the minutes from the June 9, 2026 business meeting.
Among deliberation items, staff recommended and the board approved a 31st supplemental agreement with West Consultants to increase the contract by $25,000 to upgrade the automated flood-warning system for the Shayless River Basin Flood Authority and add Spanish-language text notifications. Sarah Hensley (Community Development) noted the system upgrades support improved pre-planning for flood events.
Public Health and Social Services presented two contract amendments supporting homelessness services: an extension and $82,000 increase for the Housing Resource Center through June 30, 2027 (bringing the total consideration to $257,000) to support case management and rapid rehousing; and an extension for Reliable Enterprises through June 30, 2027 with an increase of $163,209 (the transcript contained a garbled total for the Reliable Enterprises contract that should be verified with county records).
All deliberation items (resolutions 26-187 through 26-189) were approved on a unanimous voice vote.
Ending note: several administrative hearings were scheduled for July and staff will post required notices; contract totals and details will be listed in county procurement records for confirmation.
