Following the budget discussion, the Penn-Trafford School District board voted on a series of operational items:
- Buildings & grounds: Approved replacement of fire-alarm panels at Sunrise Elementary, Harrison Park Elementary and McCulla Elementary with proposals from Johnson Controls; work to be paid from capital funds.
- Cafeteria equipment: Approved quotes for kitchen equipment: Trafford Middle School combi oven ($23,482), Harrison Park two heated food-well replacements ($12,972), and Sunrise Elementary heated food-well replacement ($7,298). The board also authorized an additional cafeteria purchase not to exceed $13,200; procurement will comply with the PA School Code of 1949.
- Personnel: Approved multiple employment items (contingent on background clearances), including a 210-day assistant principal at the high school and a district MTSS coordinator (salary $87,943 per the motion). The board also accepted the retirement of custodian Alan Simpson, effective Aug. 3, 2026, with members thanking him for his service.
All motions listed above were moved, seconded and carried by roll-call vote during the meeting. Administration confirmed that employment offers are contingent on receipt of required documentation and clearances.
