The commission continued two public hearings that lacked applicants: Case 26-36 (special use for motor vehicle rental) and Case 26-40 (child care center). Staff reported both applicants had previously confirmed attendance but were not present; commissioners debated whether to set the hearing for June 25 or July 9 and ultimately moved to continue both items to the July 9 meeting as old business to avoid renoticing.
Chair Bransky and multiple members said the July 9 agenda will include other large items and warned applicants that continued items could be placed late on the agenda with limited discussion time if the meeting runs long. The motion to continue carried by roll call with all members voting yes.
Those applicants will be listed as continued to July 9 and staff will place them under old business on the agenda so the commission can attempt to hear them without additional public-notice procedures if they appear.
