Supervisors asked staff to consult contractors, review prior invoices and recommend a clearer bid structure (for example, bidding by geographic third of the county vs. discrete ditch mileages) so future bids are comparable and enforceable. Staff said the 2026 work will continue under the awarded contract but future invitations to bid will be refined.
Separately, supervisors approved several drainage repair requests across multiple drainage districts (including DD86, DD65, DD82, DD90, DD129 and DD4) and authorized supervisors to handle the listed repairs. The motion to approve the repair requests carried by voice vote.
Staff will deliver the compiled three‑year rotation list, prior invoices, and recommendations for a bidding unit (geographic area or measured ditch miles) so the board can adopt a consistent procurement approach for future cycles.
